The Odessa Islamic cultural center "Al-Masar" activated charitable actions in the holy month of Ramadan.

The other day, there was an action to distribute grocery sets. About 100 low-income families of Odessa received help — this is part of a large-scale project organized by the Council of Ukrainian Muslims together with the German MuslimeHelfen foundation.

Also, during the blessed month, after a short break, Muslims resumed the "Feed from what you love" action.

According to the head of the Odessa ICC, Hamza Isa, the idea of such a charity arose from the desire to embody one of the principles of the Islamic creed: attaining the pleasure of the Almighty Allah.

“Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught to support people in difficult situations, help them and feed the in need. In Qur'an is said: ‘And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,’ (76:8). So, we decided to hold such action.”

Nine months ago, ICC activists fed 80 people for the first time. Over time, the number of portions distributed weekly by volunteers increased to 150. Due to certain circumstances, the project was temporarily suspended, but at the beginning of Ramadan, the actions were resumed.

“We wanted to increase the scale of good deeds with the beginning of Ramadan. Now, thanks to the Almighty, we manage to feed more and more people every Friday. As before, pilaf is distributed to the poor, the homeless, as well as to the parishioners of our mosque. We feed people regardless of their faith,”- says Hamza Isa.

Also, the head of the ICC "Al-Masar" spoke about the work of the center in Ramadan:

“The number of parishioners increased during the holy month. We prepare iftar for them. Between iftar and night prayer, we have religious lessons, and the mosque building itself is open for all prayers, including Fajr, Alhamdulillah!”
